The President of Florence Joshua Football Academy (FJ), Mr Elvis Ogbebor has advised the upcoming footballers to be hardworking, committed and be dedicated to achieve their desire goal.
Ogbebor stated this during the unveiling of the management and sponsors of the football academy in Akure, the state capital.
He pointed out that the academy is poised to discover, develop raw talents that are abound in the state and showcase them to the world.
His words, “we are not unaware that government alone can’t do it ,that is why we are doing all we could at the academy in partnership with some individuals in the state to ensure the untapped talents that abound in the state and in the country are tapped, nurture to stardom for the glory of the state and the country at large.
“After the discovery of the likes of Geoffrey Oboabana, Abe Sunday, Dayo Ojo, Nzube Anazemba, Chukwuma Akabueze in the state we are unable to find their replacement, because we have not be doing it the right way from the grassroot.
“The academy wanted to change the narrative by educating all these potentials that it’s not only when they travel abroad before they can make it as a footballer.” he stated.
He revealed that football was gone scientific saying they are ready to change the orientation of the players to get it right from the start.
The president reiterated that talent alone is not enough to get to the top of the game stressing that there are other things that must be added to it , which he said include hardworking, dedication and commitment. Those are what we want our players at the academy to imbibe so that it will stand as a guide for them to the top.
He therefore admonished the players to continue their personal training and ensure they are good shape ahead of football resumption after the coronavirus pandemic is over.
