Forest Reserves Task Force to interface with farmers

As part of efforts to encourage best practices in the activities of farmers in its Forest Reserves, Ondo State Government Task Force on Farmers is commencing one- on-one interface with all the Camp Heads and farmers in the reserves.
According to a release by the Head of Media Unit of the state Ministry of Agriculture, the sensitization and interactive session, first in the life of the committee since it was inaugurated earlier in the year by the Governor of the state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu will provide the much needed opportunity for the committee to interface with the farmers in their domains.
It will also provide the government a veritable opportunity to brief farmers on their duties and obligations to the state and feel the impulse of the farmers in order to know their expectations and challenges.
According to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Alhaji Kunle Sanni, who also double as the Secretary to the Task Force, the programme will take place in each of the three Senatorial Districts making up the state starting with the North today 10th March at the Mapo Hall in Owo local government area of the state by 10am, while that of farmers in Southern Senatorial District will come up on Thursday at Odigbo Local Govt Secretariat Hall, Odigbo by 10am in the morning.
The Permanent Secretary added that that of the Central Senatorial District will take place next week Thursday in Akure at the FADAMA Hall, Ministry of Agriculture, State Secretariat, Alagbaka Akure.
Kunle Sanni enjoined the Coordinator of the Task Force and Team Leaders of each of the three Senatorial districts and each Camp Heads to mobilize farmers in their domains to each of these meetings as slated.
According to the secretary, the Task Force will frown seriously at all forms of infractions in their conducts and failure to attend as other relevant government agencies/ officials would be on ground to brief them on government policies guiding their activities.
