Former Kwara United and Super Eagles home based player, Afeez Nosiru has bided Nigeria Professional Football League farewell after joining Greece Club, Panetolikos FC.
Nosiru was part of Kwara United team that ended the 2021/23 season on fourth position to secure continental ticket for the Afonja Warriors.
Nosiru who is known for is long passes of the round leather game has joined the likes of Junior Lokosa, Isaiah Ejeh, Alao Danbani, who left Kwara United to ply their trade in Europe.
In a chat with Sporting Hope, a renowned Football technical and president of African Grassroots Football Development (AGFD), Prince Moruf Adams said the transfer of the midfield maestro will unlock windows of opportunity for other Nigerian players.
Adams added that AGFD had earlier facilitated another home base Super Eagles, Ishaq Rafiu Kayode to NK Maribor, Slovenia, making two Nigeria players the organisation has facilitated their transfer abroad.
He said the organization will continue to
contribute to the development of football in Nigeria.
According to him, “more Nigeria players will travel to Europe in the summer, about three of them have had their pre contract intact, as soon as the new season commences they will join their new clubs.”
“Greece is one of the football nation in the world, so for our players to be playing in their first division is a good omen for our players.”
