Fornication not a sin in my religion – Falz

Nigerian rapper and singer, Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has doubled down on his controversial stance that fornication is not a sin in his belief system.
The entertainer recently stirred heated reactions on social media after declaring via X (formerly Twitter) that “fornication isn’t a sin.” His comment drew backlash from many, especially Christian and Muslim users, who quoted scriptures in a bid to counter his assertion.
However, in a fresh interview with Arise TV, Falz stood his ground, stating categorically that he no longer identifies as a Christian and now practices what he described as the “religion of love.”
“I think people read the tweet and just assumed I was speaking from a Christian perspective,” he said.
“But I wasn’t. I practice the religion of love. Under that religion, I don’t think fornication is a sin.”
Explaining further, the Bahd Guy crooner questioned societal and religious condemnation of premarital sex.
“I looked at it logically—why are we not allowed to have premarital intercourse? Who does it offend?
These are two unmarried, consenting adults. Personally, I don’t see a problem there.”
Falz’s comments have continued to generate intense debate online, with many questioning the implications of his public renunciation of Christianity and his moral position on sexuality.
