A non-governmental organisation, Change Agent Foundation International (CAFI), has empowered over 300 residents from Akoko communities in the North Senatorial District of Ondo State.

The foundation, recently distributed hair dryers, knapsack sprayers, sewing machines, grinding machines, sealing machines, drilling machines, among others, at the Ikare-Akoko Mega School in Akoko North East Local Government area of the state.

The President of the Foundation, Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, also known as Carry-Go, said the gesture was aimed at empowering the less-privileged and artisans who had acquired skills.
Okeyomi noted that the empowerment initiative would make the beneficiaries self-reliant as well as ameliorate hardship in the localities.

Okeyomi, who doubles as the Convener of Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO FSIC), also urged the artisans to harness the opportunity to create wealth and expand their existing businesses.
“You need to make good use of the items. You shouldn’t sell them but utilise them to expand your businesses. We will continue to support the less-privileged and artisans,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the former Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Mobilisation, Hon. Rotimi Ekundayo, showered encomiums on Okeyomi for empowering the beneficiaries.
“Hon. Carry-Go has done well, and we must applaud his efforts in ensuring that people are lifted out of poverty.
“I also urge the beneficiaries to make good use of the items because Okeyomi has the love of the people at heart. Since he comes from a poor background, he doesn’t want others to suffer too,” Ekundayo lauded.
Meanwhile, one of the beneficiaries, Akinwande Bosede, extolled the virtues of the donor and urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture.
