Over 300 residents from Akoko communities in Ondo State’s North Senatorial District have been empowered by a non-governmental organisation, the Change Agent Foundation International (CAFI).

The outfit gave out the offer as  part of activities to celebrate the ordination of its president asBaba Aladura of Holy Fountain of Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State.

During the event held on Saturday at the Ikare-Akoko Mega School in Akoko North East Local Government area, the foundation distributed various items, including hair dryers, knapsack sprayers, sewing machines, grinding machines, sealing machines, and drilling machines.

The President of the foundation, Dr Oladipupo Okeyomi, popularly called Carry-Go, explained that the initiative aimed to uplift the less privileged and artisans who had acquired skills.

According to Okeyomi, the empowerment programme was designed to make beneficiaries self-reliant and reduce hardship in the country.

Okeyomi, who also serves as the Convener of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO FSIC), encouraged the artisans to utilise the opportunity to create wealth and grow their businesses.

“You need to make good use of the items. You shouldn’t sell them but utilise them to expand your businesses. We will continue to support the less privileged and artisans,” he said.

In his remarks, the Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Mobilisation, Rotimi Ekundayo, commended Okeyomi for his efforts in empowering the beneficiaries.

“Carry-Go has done well, and we must applaud his efforts in ensuring that people are lifted out of poverty.

“I also urge the beneficiaries to make good use of the items because Okeyomi has the love of the people at heart. Since he comes from a poor background, he doesn’t want others to suffer too,” he said.
