Four men have been dragged before an Odigbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for allegedly threatening the life of a man while armed with dangerous weapons.

The defendants, Abba Ekus, 25, Kamali Abbar, 21, Sanni Ismail, 22, and Usman Amusu, 21, were arraigned before Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu on a one-count charge bordering on threat to life.

The prosecution told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on April 30, 2025, around 12:30pm at the Aderibigbe area, along the Lagos Benin Ore Expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

He alleged that the defendants violently threatened to harm one David Ufo with the weapons they carried.

According to him, the offence contravenes Section 86 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Volume 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

However, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.

Following their plea, the prosecutor prayed the court for an adjournment to enable him properly study the case file and assemble his witnesses.

Although the defence counsels, Mr V.A. Akinfe and Mr S.E. Jemini, did not oppose the prosecution’s application, they urged the court to grant the defendants bail in the most liberal terms.

In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Festus Akinlolu granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
