Four remanded for stealing motorcycles

Four men, who allegedly robbed motorcyclists of their motorcycles have been dragged before an Ondo Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting at Oka, in Ondo town.
The accused persons Ojo Abiodun, 27, Sarafa Amusat, 25, Tunde Ogunsan, 25 and Wale Adebisi, 25, were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery.
Meanwhile, the court presided over by Mrs Odenusi Fadeyi, has ordered the remand of the accused persons in prison custody pending the outcome of advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP),
According to the prosecution, the accused persons and others at large committed the offence between the month of February and March, 2019 at Bolorunduro street Ondo, and Bagbe via Ondo, in the Ondo Magisterial District.
The accused persons, and others at large were alleged to have been armed with one cut to size single barrel guns and one cut to size locally made dane gun, while they attacked and robbed one Oluwadamilare Ogunfuyi and Benson Ademoroti of the following items; unregistered Q-link motorcycle valued at N210,000 and Boxer Bajaj motorcycle with number plate SGM 719 QH valued at N242,000.
The alleged offence was said to be contrary to section 6(b) and punishable under section 1(1) 2(1)(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms(special provision) Act Cap. R11 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The plea of the accused persons were not taken when the charge was read to them.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Gbenga Akinsulure, prayed the court to remand the accused in prison custody pending the advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The case was adjourned till June 10, 2019 for legal advise.
