Friendly match: Sunshine Queens trade tackles with Ekiti Queens today

Sunshine Queens FC will on Friday trade tackles with Ekiti Queens in a friendly match as part of their preparation for the National Federation Cup and Nigeria Women Football League Championship competition kicking off in few weeks time.

The friendly match between the two neighbors will be held at Ondo State Sports complex, Akure by 11 am.

Sunshine Queens had demolished FC Unity Ondo City 8-0 in the final of the state FA Cup to represent the state at the national level.

The head coach of Sunshine Queens, Abimbola Oladimeji in a chat with Sporting Hope disclosed that her team have put the challenges of the past behind them, saying their target is to return to the Elite league and  do well in the Federation Cup.

He said: “Since the end of last season we have been training hard ahead of future challenges and we thank God for everything, we will engage in more friendly matches so that we can test some of our new players and old ones to see how they have blended together.

“I thank the management of the team headed by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa and the General Manager, Mr Babatunde Ogunja for their support”.

“The management stood with us, they signed additional players for us, with God on our side we are going to make them proud and build our own profile positively’, he said.
