FRSC recovers 73 stolen vehicles in 2024 via NVIS portal

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered at least 73 stolen vehicles in 2024 through the National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Portal.

This was revealed in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, at the FRSC Headquarters in Abuja. The statement, made available to our correspondent in Osogbo, highlighted the agency’s success in combating vehicle theft nationwide.

Ogungbemide stated that the FRSC had struck a significant blow against car thieves and other criminal elements in Nigeria, recovering an unprecedented number of stolen vehicles across the country.

He described this achievement as a testament to the FRSC’s commitment to national security, intelligence gathering, and ensuring the safety of road users.

According to him, the vehicles were recovered through intelligence-driven operations conducted by the FRSC in collaboration with other security agencies, particularly at the point of registration of suspected stolen vehicles.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, commended FRSC personnel for their bravery, professionalism, and dedication.

He reiterated the agency’s commitment to swift responses and proactive measures to curb vehicle theft, protecting both lives and the economic interests of Nigerians.

He urged vehicle owners to provide accurate and complete information during registration, emphasizing its importance in intelligence gathering and the timely recovery of stolen vehicles.

Mohammed reaffirmed the FRSC’s dedication to making Nigerian roads safer and more secure, calling on the public to support the Corps in its mission for road safety and crime prevention.
