The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reiterated the need for stronger inter-agency collaboration to address emergency response and road traffic management across Niger State.

This was highlighted during a courtesy visit by the Sector Commander, RS7.2 Niger State Command, Minna, Corps Commander (CC) Aishat Saadu, to the Commander, Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe.

The visit, held at the Headquarters TRADOC NA complex in Minna Military Cantonment, underscored the importance of deepening synergy between the FRSC and the Nigerian Army in tackling broader security challenges.

CC Aishat Saadu emphasised that the purpose of the visit was to seek sustained cooperation and support from the military, while also commending the unwavering commitment the Nigerian Army has shown to the FRSC, particularly in the areas of protection and training.

In a statement issued by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the collaboration has greatly enhanced the Corps’ capacity to deliver on its constitutional responsibilities.

She expressed a strong desire to further consolidate the existing cordial relationship between both agencies, especially through continued engagement with TRADOC NA.

Saadu reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to its duties in Niger State and called on the Nigerian Army to continue rendering necessary support whenever the need arises.

In response, Major General Kevin Aligbe congratulated CC Saadu on her recent appointment and described the visit as a significant stakeholder engagement initiative.

He lauded the FRSC’s vital role in curbing road crashes, ensuring road discipline, and creating a safe motoring environment nationwide.

He pledged TRADOC’s ongoing support and collaboration with the FRSC, especially in areas of capacity building through conferences, workshops, seminars, and other social initiatives.

In a related development, the Territorial Director, North Central, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Mr James Mamza, also paid a courtesy visit to the TRADOC Commander on the same day.

Mamza used the occasion to advocate greater military involvement in the national identity registration process.

Highlighting the strategic importance of NIMC’s services to national planning, development, and security, Mamza called on TRADOC to mobilise Army personnel and the entire barracks community for enrolment into the national identity database.

He further requested access to TRADOC facilities to enrol military personnel and their families.

The initiative, he noted, aligns with the Federal Government’s preparations for the upcoming national population census and efforts to ensure that all Nigerians are captured in the identity management system.

Mamza outlined NIMC’s mandate and urged TRADOC to support its full implementation, especially under his leadership as the Territorial Director for the North Central zone.

He also stressed the importance of military protection and joint training initiatives as part of broader inter-agency collaboration.

The NIMC team encouraged officers and soldiers to make use of the NINAUTH mobile app, available on the Play Store, to access their digital national identity cards for seamless nationwide identification.

Responding, Major General Aligbe commended NIMC’s drive to establish a unified, multipurpose national identity card and noted the availability of such services through various banks nationwide.

The visits ended with the presentation of souvenirs, signing of the visitors’ book, and group photographs to commemorate the engagements.
