Students of the Federal University,  Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, during the week took to the streets of the town to protest over what they described as poor learning facilities in the school.

The students in their hundreds  urged  the Federal Government to provide more funds to complete some projects approved for the university campuses.

The angry students at the early hours of the day blocked the gates of the school and mounted road blockages to prevent staff of the  institution  from gaining entrance to the school.

Speaking with Journalists  on the protest,  the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kayode Shoremekun alleged that findings by  his management shown that students who have refused to pay school fees and have been barred from taking  part  in  the examination may be behind the protest.
