German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Gift Orban.
The 22-year-old Super Eagles invitee penned a contract that will keep him at the club until 2029, following his transfer from French Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.
Hoffenheim’s Managing Director of Sport, Andreas Schicker, described Orban as the ideal addition to the team, saying:
“In Gift Orban we have found exactly the fast striker with good depth that we were looking for.”
The German club, which already boasts Super Eagles defender Kevin Akpoguma in its ranks, reportedly paid Lyon €9 million for the deal, with an additional €3 million in performance-related bonuses.
Supporters of the club have expressed their delight, with many said to be ecstatic over the arrival of the Nigerian forward.
