L ast weekend was a memorable moment for the Assistant News Editor of The Hope Newspaper, Mr. Fisayo Akinduro as he tied the knot with his heartthrob, Damilola Akinmolayan, also a staff.

The event held at the Nigeria Medical Association’s event hall, Igbatoro road Akure had in attendence dignitaries from all walks of life including Media Managers and colleagues in the media industry.

Present at the ceremony include the Ondo State Commissioner for Agriculture; Mr Olayato Aribo, the Chairman/Editor-in-Chief, Owena Press Limited; Sir Ademola Adetula, Ondo State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Prince Leke Adegbite and other well wishers.

In his address, the chairman of the occasion, Mr Olayato Aribo congratulated the couple and both parents charging them to see the institution of marriage as God ordained.

“Make up your mind that regardless of whatever comes, you will live together and stay together because in God’s master plan for marriage, there is no room for separation or divorce.

“To you Damilola, always understand that your husband is your head and never be tempted to divert your attention from your husband when children start coming in, this is the mistake most women make in marriage.”

He urged the husband to always make love for his wife his priority, stressing that love is the foundation of every marriage.

Earlier in the week, the couple had sealed the union at the Akure South Marriage Registry.

Expressing his excitement, the groom’s father, Mr Patrick Akinduro said “today is one of the happiest days of my life especially seeing my last born getting married, Fisayo is a well trained and disciplined child and I wish him a happy home.”

The bride’s mother, Mrs Oladunni Akinmolayan admonished the couple to commit all the teachings they had received to heart, she as well urged them never to allow a third party in their home.

“Now they are married, I urge them to be best friends and always settle their differences amicably without involving the third party. Damilola is well trained and I am confident that she will prosper in this marriage.”

In his appreciation, the groom thanked all the guests and also appreciated God Almighty for giving him the bone of his bone.

“Damilola is indeed my missing rib and I cannot appreciate God enough for making our paths to cross. From colleagues at work to best of friends and finally to soulmate, this is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our sight.”
