Ademola

By Francis Akinnodi

The Podium magazine publisher, Mr. Ademola Akinbola said his vision is to build a global media brand that would celebrate the good deeds of Nigerians all over the world.

Akinbola said this during the official unveiling of the print edition of The Podium International Magazine in Akure on Thursday.

He explained that the culture of blame, criticism, and condemnation must be replaced with a culture that appreciates and celebrates good people while they are still alive.

“As a people, we are quick to condemn but slow to commend. We sometimes also celebrate people with dubious pedigree. This must stop. A lot of Nigerians are doing exploits all over the world, unnoticed, unrecognized, and uncelebrated. The Podium is out to change this order.”

According to him, The Podium Media, which he founded in 2019, was focused on identifying and serenading the good and exemplary deeds of Nigerians at home and abroad.

Early, the Royal father of the day, Jegun Olu-Ekun of Ile-Oluji, Oba (Dr) Olufederin Adetimehin said The Podium magazine is an example of how the Nigerian media could be used to celebrate the good things Nigerians are doing all the world.

Oba Adetimehin said magazine is a media platform that he believed can be used to support the socioeconomic and political development of the state.

The Royal Eminent Guest of the day, Olowo of Owo, Oba (Dr) Ajibade Gbadegesin said the publication is good in an open government when people are free to express themselves.

Oba Gbadegesin said The Podium magazine is an added value to development of the state.

At the event, Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Mr Wale Akinterinwa was honoured Influencer Leader award by the board of The Podium magazine for his combinations to the development of the state.

Akinterinwa who is the Special Guest of Honour at the event, described the publisher as a well trained journalist and author.

He said The Podium represent the refreshing hope in journalism with a mission to enlarge the scope of the society.

He urged the media to join hands with government and well meaning people to change the mind sets of the people towards the society.
