Goats are animals and a source  of low fat and their excreta serves as fertilizer to growing crops in the farm.

Goats require adequate land for grazing which requires fencing where they are being raised.

 Raising tips:

Decide either raising them for personal consumption or to sell their meats or milk

Keep in mind that a single doe will produce(90 Quarts) meaning (liquid measure of fresh milk every month for 10 months per annum).

Advisable to start with fewer animals you ultimately want to learn how to raise without pressure.

While raising goats for milk or meat, the profits made in selling goat milk enables farmers to produce (cheese, goat milks, soaps) and other products .

Each castrated male goat will produce 25-40 pounds of meat.

Types of goats

(1)There are more than 200 recognized domestic breeds of goats, according to “Smithsonian national zoo”,but I’ll be mentioning just (3) types of goats:-

(2)Capra Hircus:- You can find this types of goats on the farm and mountains.

(2)Orcamnos Americans:- They stay in the rocky areas in the North Western of the United States.

(3)Boers:- This is the main meat breed in the United States,so be notified that you can as well decide to breed your milking goats to (BOERS) or another meat breed to produce cross breeds kids for meat, while still keeping them for milk.

       Feeding goat:

Always tidy their surroundings and be careful of the food you give them.

They do not eat all fresh grasses but can eat

Pasleys. Greens (watermelon, orange  peel.etc). dry cassava, maize raps,

millet, beans particles, soya beans, groundnuts peel.

wheat brown(this makes them grow faster).

5 Buckets of water is okay for 4 goats (depending on the size of your buckets)

Give them clean water for drinking and change it when dirty and be very close to them

Understanding your goatsGoats love a smile, they are emotional.

They avoid angry faces ,and the interact with happy ones.

Goats understand human body languages, do not like rain falling on them.
