BRASS ORACLE while speaking on why celebrities’ marriages crash and the implications to their careers, said marriage is an institution institutionalised by God as it can be seen in the book of Genesis chapter 2 verse 18 also, Genesis chapter 18:24-25.

Hence, marriage is beyond what mortals can use their wisdom or craftiness to run. It requires that we seek Christ who is the power of God and also, the wisdom of God. It is expedient that we allow Christ into our homes in order to have a successful marriage.

He said the rate of divorce today and most especially amongst celebrities continue to increase day by day due to some factors which include:

“Most of the marriages of these celebrities are not founded on solid rock of Christ who institutionalised marriage. Hence, most of these marriages crumble.

Infidelity has become a norm amidst most of these celebrities and this is one of the factors that has continued to destroy marriage.

Another factor contributing to the increase in divorce among the celebrities is pride. Some female celebrities believe they are more famous, richer and prosperous than their husbands therefore, the need for submission is out of the picture.

Another factor is time. Before a home can be successful, it is imperative that the husband and wife should create time for themselves and most importantly, the children.

Most of these celebrities do not create the needed time to making their home successful. It is quite understandable that being a celebrity comes with greater responsibilities and sacrifice; sacrifice to fans etc, but all the same, it is important that one should make out time for one’s family. Inability to create time for the home will definitely affect the children, wife or the husband.

Another factor is background. Some of these celebrities grew up from a broken home and background has a way of influencing our lives and beliefs. So, they do not see anything wrong in divorce.

Western influence. Most of these celebrities have traveled far and wide, as divorce is said to be a norm among the westerners in some of the countries of the world, this may have influenced some of them. Hence, they do not see anything wrong in divorce.

As we know that marriage comes with responsibilities and commitment, be it financially, physically or emotionally, when there’s a divorce or disagreement in marriage, this has the utmost tendency to affect the celebrity emotionally. So, when a celebrity is affected emotionally, this will in turn affect his commitment to his career.

Also, when problems keep persisting in marriage or getting to the stage of divorce, this has the tendency to affect the increase in growth of a celebrity.

Another implication is there could be reduction in his/her fans. Most fans may not accept or like the idea of divorce. So, if this happens to a celebrity they love, this in turn reduce their loyalty or love for such celebrity. This will definitely affect the career of such celebrity.
