Gov Adeleke donates N5m to family of slain NSCDC officer

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has donated the sum of five million naira to the family of a deceased officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, who was killed by suspected hoodlums in 2024.

According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in the state, ASC Kehinde Adeleke, the donation was aimed at supporting the educational needs of the late officer’s children.

“His Excellency, the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has donated the sum of five million naira to support the educational needs of the children of a fallen hero of the NSCDC, Osun State Command, who paid the supreme price while serving the nation,” the statement read.

While presenting the donation to the bereaved family on behalf of the Governor, the State Commandant, Dr. Michael Adaralewa Sotiyo, conveyed the governor’s heartfelt condolences and encouraged the family to channel the funds towards the children’s education.

Sotiyo commended the governor for his compassion, support, and dedication to the welfare of security personnel, stating that the gesture would significantly boost the morale of officers serving in the state.

In response, the family of the deceased expressed deep gratitude to the governor for his kind gesture and assured that the money would be used judiciously to honour the memory of their loved one.
