Gov Adeleke, Ooni hail Aregbesola @ 68

Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has extolled the virtues of his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, on the occasion of his 68th birthday, describing him as a courageous leader and a grassroots politician with a difference.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor acknowledged the former Minister of Interior’s life of service and significant contributions to Osun State’s development, noting that political differences have never diminished the respect he holds for Aregbesola.
“I celebrate my dear Egbon, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, as he marks his 68th birthday today. Ogbeni is a man endowed with an incredible sense of purpose, using his God-given knowledge and energy to initiate impactful and transformative projects,”Adeleke stated.
He commended Aregbesola’s record of public service, praising the former governor and minister for his role in creating opportunities for young people and for leaving a mark through various impactful policies.
“Regardless of our political affiliations, I hold Ogbeni Aregbesola in the highest esteem for his bold contributions to the growth and development of Osun State. I pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless him with good health, a sound mind, and more fruitful years ahead,” the statement added.
Similarly, the Arole Oduduwa, Olofin Adimula, and Natural Head of the Yoruba Race, His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has also celebrated Ogbeni Aregbesola, describing him as a distinguished son of Oduduwa land and a pillar of progressive politics.
In a statement issued by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, the Ooni hailed Aregbesola as a revolutionary thinker, grassroots mobiliser, and unrelenting advocate for the masses.
“Ogbeni Aregbesola is more than a political figure—he is an institution of progressive ideology. His contributions to participatory democracy and infrastructural transformation in Lagos and Osun States are enduring legacies,” the statement read.
The Ooni praised Aregbesola’s political consistency, ideological discipline, and unwavering loyalty to progressive causes, describing him as a source of inspiration to a new generation of change agents across Yorubaland and Nigeria.
On the milestone of his 68th birthday, the House of Oduduwa offered prayers to Olodumare for continued grace, strength, and wisdom for Aregbesola, so he may keep championing noble causes for the upliftment of the people.
“May your wisdom continue to serve as a compass for justice, good governance, and equity in our land,” the Ooni prayed.
