Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has inaugurated the state project Advisory Committee for At Risk Children Programme (ARC-P)to further impact positively on children and youths in the state.
The inauguration which was witnessed by Senior Special Adviser to President on Social Investment, Hajia Mariam Uwais and her management team who were in the state to ensure full implementation of the federal government policy, took place at Deputy Governor’s Office, Alagbaka Akure.
The wife of the Governor and First Lady of Ondo state, Chief Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu who is the chairman of the committee was also present, at the inauguration.
Governor Akeredolu thanked President Muhamadu Buhari for approving to support children and youths through the social investment initiative which is key to development and poverty alleviation.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa said Ondo state is ready with the required data to improve on the wellbeing of children and youths in the 18 council areas of the state.
Earlier, Hajia Mariam Uwais said the state would draw its roadmap for the training while the federal government would provide the required funds and expertise for full implementation of the federal government policy.
Wife of the Governor and Chairman of the state Advisory Committee for ARC-P,Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu assured that the committee would work assiduously to improve the wellbeing of children and youths through the program.
Chief Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu emphasized on data as a key component to drive more developmental projects that would affect the youths positively in their various endeavors in the state.
Other members of the committee include Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, Commissioner for Health Dr Banji Ajaka, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr (Mrs) Adebunmi Osadahun, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Bamidele Ologun, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural and Community Development, Babatunde Kolawole, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on security matters, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo , Representative of Civil Society Coalition, MrFranklin Oloniju and Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender, Mrs Olamide Falana as secretary.
