Gov Oyebanji condoles Deputy Governor over mother’s death

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed condolences to the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, following the passing of her mother, Olori Esther Iyalaje Adegboye.
Madam Adegboye passed away on Tuesday morning after a brief illness at the age of 97.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described her death as painful but noted it marked the end of a dignified era. He commended her impactful life and contributions to the Ikere Ekiti community.
The Governor praised Madam Adegboye as an honest and resourceful community leader who played a significant role in women’s mobilisation and empowerment in Ikere Ekiti. He highlighted that her virtues were reflected in her children, who have excelled in their respective careers while embodying loyalty, honesty, and reliability.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Ekiti State, I commiserate with the Deputy Governor, her siblings, and the entire Adegboye Royal Dynasty,” Oyebanji said. “Mama lived a good life and left behind legacies of selfless service, diligence, and loyalty.”
He prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, Governor Oyebanji paid a condolence visit to the Deputy Governor at her official residence in the Government House Complex, Ado-Ekiti, on Tuesday afternoon.
