Gov Oyebanji felicitates Oba Adejugbe on 79th birthday
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has congratulated the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, HRM Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, on his 79th birthday. He described the first-class monarch as an exemplary leader who has been supportive of development efforts in the state.
The Governor noted that standing strong, healthy, and focused at seventy-nine, with an enviable record of accomplishments, is truly worth celebrating.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described Oba Adejugbe as a visionary leader who utilises his extensive contacts, goodwill, and influence to foster the development of Ado-Ekiti as a prosperous town and a befitting capital city.
Governor Oyebanji emphasised that Oba Adejugbe’s love and commitment to the development of Ekiti State are evident in all his actions and his cooperation with the state government. He added that the monarch is always willing to take on responsibilities that accelerate the state’s progress.
The Governor further highlighted Oba Adejugbe’s resourcefulness and generosity of spirit, which have endeared him to all former chief executives of the state and political leaders. He praised the monarch’s reputation for offering wise counsel and interventions that ensure the state moves in the right direction.
He also recalled the pivotal roles played by Oba Adejugbe during the struggle for the creation of Ekiti State in the 1990s, describing the monarch as a great leader with immense positive influence who remains tireless in championing worthy causes.
“Oba Adejugbe’s life has been a blessing not only to the indigenes of Ado-Ekiti but also to non-indigenes. He is a father figure to all and truly deserving of honour and celebration.
“Kabiyesi’s exemplary leadership has contributed significantly to making Ado-Ekiti a peaceful and accommodating state capital where people from various parts of the country can live, work, and invest without fear.
“Today, Ado-Ekiti is a home for all, regardless of tribe, language, culture, or religion. This inclusivity has greatly contributed to the tremendous transformation and prosperity witnessed in the town, and we remain thankful to Kabiyesi for his remarkable leadership.
“On behalf of myself, my wife, and the good people of Ekiti State, I congratulate Kabiyesi, HRM Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, and wish him good health, long life, and many more impactful years on the throne of his forebears,” the statement concluded.
