… congratulates Oyebanji on consensus candidacy

By Precious Owolabi

The Ekiti State Government has expressed profound satisfaction with the peaceful, transparent and well-coordinated conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegate election, which culminated in the affirmation of Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the consensus candidate of the party for the forthcoming governorship election.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, the government commended party delegates, stakeholders and members of the APC across the sixteen local government areas for demonstrating unity, maturity and unwavering loyalty to the progressive ideals of the party.

“The outcome of the delegate election is a reflection of the people’s confidence in Governor Oyebanji’s visionary leadership, inclusive governance and developmental strides across all sectors.

“His endorsement as consensus candidate is both well-deserved and a testament to the enduring trust and goodwill he enjoys among party members and the general populace,” the statement read.

Olatunbosun applauded the governor for his humility, focus and steadfast commitment to the continuity of good governance in Ekiti State, noting that in less than three years, the administration has recorded remarkable achievements in infrastructure development, education, agriculture, youth empowerment and social investment.

He added, “Governor Oyebanji has not only sustained the legacy of progressive governance in Ekiti State, but has raised the bar of excellence through transparency, compassion and people-centred policies. His affirmation as consensus candidate is a victory for all Ekiti people who desire sustained peace, prosperity, and progress.”

Olatunbosun also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, the media and the APC Primary Election Committee headed by the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Ahmed Usman Ododo for their observatory, professional, and impartial roles in ensuring a smooth, credible and transparent exercise, noting that their collective diligence, neutrality and cooperation greatly contributed to the peaceful conduct and integrity of the process.

He further lauded the APC leadership at both the state and national levels for promoting internal democracy, unity and cohesion in the build-up to the primary, describing the process as a model of harmony and maturity that other states should emulate.

The statement urged all party members and citizens of Ekiti State to continue supporting Governor Oyebanji’s administration as it consolidates on its achievements and advances the collective aspiration for a greater and more prosperous Ekiti State.
