Governor Alia unveils new Benue symbols

Governor of Benue State Rev.Fr Hyacinth Alia has unveiled Benue symbols and enjoined the citizens to adapt to the new image which signifies unity and identity of the state with pride.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Governor Alia stated that it was a significant milestone recorded, stressing that history has been made after they have embarked upon rigorous process for two consecutive weeks together collectively rediscovering the symbol, identity and values reflecting cultural values to the satisfaction of all and sundry.
He commended the committee for doing an excellent job which led to their dedication and expertise towards ensuring acceptable quality for enhanced development in the state.
According to Fr. Alia they have demonstrated that with hard work, determination and passion for excellence, we can achieve great things.
He warmly expressed his deepest appreciation to each and every member of the committee for their selfless service to the state
His words: “My appreciation goes to everyone who made entries for the state symbols.
“Your creativity, imagination, and enthusiasm are what made this project a success. Whether your entry was selected or not, please know that your contribution is valued and appreciated. You have helped to shape the identity of our state, and for that, we are eternally grateful. “
He emphasized that the top five finalists have done tremendous successes. “Whether your symbols emerged over all best or not, it shows the testament to your talent, innovation, and dedication to our state. Therefore you have shown you are true ambassadors of Benue state, and we are proud to have you as part of our community.
“These symbols represent who we as a people, they reflect our values, culture and history. It is also a reminder of our struggles and triumphs we strive towards greatness.
It could interest you to know that the state also had its anthem just like during immediate past administration in the state.
He used the occasion to announce that security has been beefed up reaffirming his government’s determination to ensure that Internally Displaced Persons IDPS are permanently returned to their ancestral lands.
