Governors ‘ll recruit to curb banditry– Ademodi
Ondo State Commissioner for Special Duties and Regional Integration, Prof Bayonle Ademodi has said that DAWN commission has nothing to do with the planned Western Region Security Network.
Ademodi, reacting to an allegation by a faction of Odua Peoples Congress and the Harmonized Vigilante Group said the Governors will recruit to prevent banditry in their various mandate areas.
The Group had alleged that the Governors were recruiting political thugs who worked for the success of their political parties into the security outfit without considering them.
Speaking with The Hope on phone, Ademodi said the Director-General of DAWN had reacted to the group’s claim.
He described the groups allegation as a cheap blackmail and as a group who wanted relevance.
He said the governors are yet to begin the recruitment, adding that DAWN commission does not recruit.
“The group is just looking for relevance by resorting to cheap blackmail. The commission has nothing to do with recruitment, it is the individual state governor that will recruit to cover their area”, he said.
