The Bishop of Akoko Anglican Diocese, Rt. Rev Jacob Bada, has described the re-election bid of the Ondo state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, as a divine project which should be supported by all and sundry in the interest of growth and development of the state.

Bishop Bada made this known on Sunday in his sermon at the Interdenominational Service he titled ‘Redemption Thanksgiving’, organised to mark the third year anniversary.

He described the governor as a divine project, noting that God would not abandon him until he finishes His contract of two term.

The service had in attendance, governor Akeredolu; his deputy, Agboola Ajayi; Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun; Chief Judge of the state, Justice Olutoyin Akeredolu, Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale; Head of Service, Dare Aragbaiye; members of the state executive council, religious leaders and  traditional rulers among others.

The Bishop said the time has come for everybody, irrespective of political affiliations, to speak with one voice and jointly rebuild the state and take it to its destination.

He congratulated the governor and his team on third anniversary, just as he called on all to rise up and build Ondo state that can be proud of.

While saying that Akeredolu has enjoyed the grace of God and the support of the people in the last three years, the Bishop added that time has come to rise, come together and fight the state’s common enemy with a view to collectively take the state to the promised land.

He cautioned politicians in the state against dirty politics and divisive tendencies, insisting that it is time to think anew, act anew and make the welfare of the people a priority.

He also admonished the governor to continue to remain in the Lord in prayers, assuring him of the support of the religious leaders at all times in the interest of the development of the state.

“We have seen development everywhere. Ondo state is now like a construction site. If there is any time to speak with one voice, this is the time. We must fight together, work together and achieve greatness together,” the Bishop stressed.

In his remarks, Governor Akeredolu who was full of joy sang various praises to the Lord for how far he has helped his administration.
