Govt decries illegal structures at Ademulegun roundabout

As part of its aimin safeguarding the lives of its citizens and ensure strict adherence to Physical Planning Laws, Ondo State Government  has decried the lawlessness demonstrated by developers at Ademulegun roundabout, Ife road in Ondo town .

The state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Solagbade Amodeni made this known in Ondo town while on the ministry’s routine inspection to monitor the level of compliance within the metropolis.

Speaking at Ademulegun roundabout, Prince Amodeni said the shanties and make-shift illegal structures that are littering the area very close to the road is not only against the law, but  putting at great risk the lives of the owners and that of passers-by around the area.

He said the government will not because of not wanting to stop people from making a living watch them put their lives at the mercy of reckless drivers plying the route.

He declared that “We’ll rather lose properties than lose lives as lives of the citizens are precious and the government will take necessary measures to safeguard them”.

The commissioner noted that the place littered with these illegal structures is government setback that cannot be put to any use other than as decided by the state government.

He, however, said the owners of these illegal structures shall have till December 31st, 2018 to remove these illegal structures before the enforcement squad of the ministry will visit the site on 2nd January, 2019 and pull down all these illegal structures so that the place can take back its beauty.

He assured that no stone would be left unturned at ensuring that people comply with the physical planning rules of the state.
