She appealed to owners of undeveloped plots of land to take good care of them so as not to be taken over by government, saying “we are working on amending laws that affect undeveloped plots such that government takes over them when it is not well taken care of within one month.”
While frowning at the zero compliance level of those in the two markets visited, she described their state of filthiness as worrisome and harped on the need for the authorities, of the market to evacuate the illegal dump sites in the markets in less than a month.
She suggested that the authorities especially in shasha, should set up a sanitation committee to maintain cleanliness in the market.
On their parts, the representatives of the markets promised to give urgent attention to it, saying “we will reorganise to ensure it is kept clean.”
She called on the people to make sanitation a lifestyle to be free from sicknesses and diseases.
