Grassroot Football: Hostility resumes at Ijapo Housing field

Hostility resumes tomorrow at Ijapo Housing field as Rising Stars FC lock horns with Cottagers FC in the first semi finals of the 11th edition of Ijapo Kunle Tuface Football promotions tagged DSP Sunday Peter Cup 2020.

While Barracks Eagles tackles Ages FC in the second semi Final of the grassroots football development after Christmas and New year break.

According to DSP Peter, there is need to develop grassroots football in Ondo state and Nigeria at large to enable us discover another raw talents like Rashidi Yekini, Ndukka Ugbade, Geoffrey Oboabana, Abe Sunday, Shade Akinrolabu, Dayo Ojo, Seun Olulayo,Kehinde Adedipe and many others.

He said, “Nigeria is bound with numerous talents not only in football but in other sports.”

Our major challenges is our inability to harness this talent, nurture it ,develop it to stardom like it happens in other climes.

While speaking to the Sporting Hope, the crooner of Ijapo Kunle Tuface Football promotions, Ayokunle Oluwatope said government cannot develop sports alone .

He however call upon corporate and private individuals to join hands with the government to bring back the dying grassroots football development in the state .

“Grassroots Football Development is the solution to Nigeria Football, let us go back and  bring back the soccer game from the cradle.”
