Grassroots Football: Ages FC crush Barracks Eagles, get final spot

Ages football club have entered into the finals of Grassroots football competition in Akure.

The club came from two goals down to crush Barracks Eagles 4-1 in a penalty shootout of the tension soaked first semifinals of the ACP Sunday Peter 2020 soccer competition.

Fawole Ayomide gave Barracks Eagles the lead in the 5th minute of the encounter before Taye Eyitemi double the lead 7th minutes later.

Aremu Ademola brought the resilient Ages FC back to the game after slotting in a through pass from a perfect tee up between Michael Olalusi and his team mates six minutes to the end of the first half.

At the restart of the second half, Gaius Chinedu got the leveller for Ages FC in the 75th minute from Olalusi second assists of the encounter.

The decisive goal eventually forced the game to penalty shootout which later sent Ages FC to the final of the competition to face winners between Rising Stars and Cottagers FC.

Speaking with Sporting Hope, Coach  Adeola Olawale who commended the resilience of his lads thanked God for the success recorded so far since the beginning of the competition.

“I thank the fans who believed in our young team, we will not let them down in the final,” he said.
