As the 15th edition of the grassroots football competition tagged: “2023 Adu Cubana Unity Cup” continues at the Ijapo Housing field, Ijapo Ages Stars FC have defeated Waxing FC to top group ‘A’ with 7 points.

Victory Lions are topping group ‘B’ with goal difference having tied in same points with M- MAX FC.

The group ‘B’ table topper played a goalless draw against Ijapo Estate Eagles FA in their last game to leap into the top log of group B.

Ijapo Ages Stars FC played 3-1 against Fortune Rangers in the opening match of the competition, before being held to a barren draw by Benlab football Academy to get their 7 points in three matches.

Idanre United are second in the group with three points , though shared same points with Waxing FC but were ahead with goal difference in two matches played by both teams.

“Benlab FA and Fortune Rangers were in fourth and fifth position with 1 points and zero points respectively.

In group B, Victory Lions defeated Might Sparrow 1-0 in their first match and played 0-0 in their second match to  earn four points in two matches, while M- MAX played a 2-2 draw against Ijapo Estate Eagles in thier first match before defeating Mighty Sparrow 1-0 to acquire four point to settle for second in group B.

M- MAX won their matches against Mighty Sparrow who occupied the last position in group B and later played 2-2 with Ijapo Estate Eagles to also earn four points.

Barracks Eagles, Ijapo Estate Eagles and Mighty Sparrow are in third, fourth and fifth positions with 3, 2 and zero points respectively .

The organiser, Ayokunle Oluwatope said the 15th edition will unearth budding talents that will bring glory not to only Ondo State but the country at large. He appealed to all participating teams to play according to the rules of the game.
