A group, Sunshine Integrity Movement (SIM), has drummed support for the re-election of the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, over what it described as his outstanding achievements in less than two and a half years in office.

The Director-General of the group and prominent indigene of Akure, Professor Olu Aboluwoye, at a press conference in Akure, the state capital.

He explained that the various outstanding achievements of Governor Akeredolu across the three Senatorial Districts of the state have added value to the human capital development and economic growth of the Sunshine State.

Aboluwoye specifically applauded the governor for his encouraging and inspiring performance in critical sectors including agriculture, education, infrastructure, health and industrialization.

Others are empowerment programme, security, power and electricity projects. He also lauded him over workers’ welfare and care for special people.

He urged the people of the state to sustain the tempo of good governance by supporting Akeredolu for a second term in office, saying that his giant strides could be seen by all across the state, just as he advised other members of the APC, who may be nurturing governorship ambition to shelve their aspirations and support Akeredolu in the interest of the development of the state and welfare of the people.

While expressing confidence that governor Akeredolu would clinch the APC ticket to contest the 2020 gubernatorial election in the state, Aboluwoye revealed that the group had secured 75 per cent of votes of Automatic Delegates ahead of the primary election in the year 2020.

Aboluwoye, however, noted that Sunshine Integrity Movement was not an APC forum, but a body of concerned individuals who work together for the progress of the state.

Stating some of the achievements of the governor, Aboluwoye said “I want to commend the governor for the regular payment of  workers salaries” including offsetting six of seven months arrears and pension since assumption of office, regular promotion ‘without tears’ youth employment through ‘Youths on the Ridges Empowerment in Agro-Business, acquisition of two Ethanol plants for cassava processing, distribution of 600,000 cocoa seedlings to farmers in the state, distribution of N10million to farmers, and injection of N15million into farmers’ Bank.
