Group hails Olabimtan’s role in revitalising Akoko communities

The United Kingdom Chapter of the Ondo Youths in Diaspora (OSYiD) has lauded the Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Victor Olabimtan, for what it describes as his remarkable contributions to the development of Akokoland.

Coordinator of the group, Amb. Gbenga Olukayode, popularly known as Pedro, gave the commendation in a statement made available to Weekend Hope, where he extolled Olabimtan’s selfless leadership and unwavering commitment to grassroots and educational development.

Olukayode described the Supare-Akoko-born technocrat as a true ‘son of the soil’, whose dedication to uplifting rural communities through education stands as a shining example to others.

He praised the former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly for championing transformation in the state’s basic education sector through school rehabilitation, provision of modern learning facilities, and sustained efforts in teacher training and capacity building, particularly in underserved areas.

“Olabimtan remains one of the finest sons Akokoland has produced.

“His efforts as SUBEB chairman have brought a new lease of life to basic education to Akokoland and the entire state,” Olukayode stated.

He stressed that Olabimtan’s leadership reflects integrity, commitment, and genuine concern for the wellbeing of the people, especially the younger generation.

Calling on relevant stakeholders across the State to support leaders with proven track records to emerge as the next chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, the UK-based youth advocate said Olabimtan’s delivery of people-centred projects has been both consistent and impactful.

“We in the diaspora are proud of Hon. Olabimtan.

“His remarkable impact on education and community development speaks volumes. Supare-Akoko and Akoko at large are indeed fortunate to have such a dedicated leader,” Olukayode noted.
