A group, Sunshine Redemption Forum (SRF) has hailed the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on  the construction of Oke Alabojuto Road in Ikare Akoko.

The group said Akeredolu has imprinted his name on the sands  of time as the first Governor in the Sunshine State to display  such huge tenacity of purpose by saving the lives of the people from the wreck the deadly hilly road had caused.

SRF in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Olasunkanmi Akinyemi, said the group has noted with admiration, the deliberate intervention of Governor Akeredolu on roads that  have constantly claimed the lives of  people through accidents..

According to the statement, Akeredolu’s approach to service is quite different from the regular Nigerian  politicians who award and execute contracts based on political  calculation and patronage.

The statement reads: ” A good leader reaches out to protect the people and places premium on the lives and safety of the people. Governor Akeredolu has shown the quality of a great leader. He is not one  of those politicians who believe in playing politics with the lives of the people

“Akeredolu has shown that he is committed to service and nothing but service to the people of Ondo state. His passion to salvage the state and put in place accelerated development is second to none. We have watched how Akeredolu has made efforts to ensure that Ondo State is on the world map in terms of infrastructural development  and investment drive

“Few months into his administration, we were surprised to see the intervention on the another deadly Oke -Oka road which had claimed lives of numerous road users,  most of whom  were not even from Ondo State. We have seen what Akeredolu has turned that road into today. The frequent accidents on that road has been reduced to the barest minimum “

The group said the Oke Alabojuto road which was a nightmare to the people of Ikare had remained a blood sucking spot until the Akeredolu’s administration intervened and leveled the hilly road.

“Since the 80’s, Oke Alabojuto has been taking sacrifices from the people of Ikare. Many thought it was a spiritual spot that sucks blood when angry. We are grateful to the  Governor for changing the narratives,” he stated.
