Guard kills technician, dumps corpse in forest

Homicide  detectives have recovered the corpse of a 30-year-old technician, Ayodeji Busayo reportedly killed by a forest guard with Ondo State Civil Service last Sunday in Akure, Ondo State capital.

The Hope Metro learnt that the fast decomposing body of Busayo, father of three children was recovered on Thursday in a forest along Akure-Idanre where his assailant dumped him.

The forest guard, (names with held) was further learnt knocked down  Busayo on a motorcycle and instead of taking him to the hospital for medical attention allegedly dumped him in the bush.

Eye witnesses of the accident claimed that Busayo initially staggered after he was hit by the guard’s vehicle and was stabilized  by sympathisers who helped him to his feet by pouring water on him to  revive him.

The eye witness account said the matter was resolved following an assurance by the guard that he would take Busayo to the hospital for further medical attention.

Instead of taking him to the hospital, the guard allegedly dumped Busayo in a bush along Idanre road dead, leaving his aged mother, wife and children, Ayomide, Gold and Aduragbemi in tears.

At the family house in Ijare,  sympathizers thronged the place in tears to console the mother and wife.

Busayo’s mother, Mrs Adeyeoluwa Busayo deeply overwhelmed with emotions appealed to security agencies to ensure that those who killed her son must be brought to justice.

The Ondo  State Police spokesman, CSP, Femi Joseph confirmed that an official of the state Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources was arrested for allegedly killing an okada man and dumping his corpse in the forest.
