Gunmen have abducted Blessing Adagba, the Coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, April 3, in the Okposhi Eheku community of the council area, has thrown the community into anxiety.

Confirming the abduction, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, told newsmen on Friday that the Command had launched a manhunt to rescue the victim and apprehend the perpetrators.

“Yes, Adagba was abducted in the Okposhi Eheku community of Ohaukwu Local Government Area,” Ukandu stated.

He disclosed that the Anti-Kidnapping Squad had already been deployed to track the abductors and rescue the Coordinator.

“We have swung into action. The Anti-Kidnapping Squad is on the matter and they are working tirelessly to ensure her immediate release,” the police spokesman assured.

Meanwhile, the motive behind the abduction remains unclear as police investigations continue.

The incident adds to the growing concerns over insecurity in the state and the South-East region, where cases of abduction have been on the rise in recent times.
