Gunmen abduct Ondo-based businessman in Edo

An Ikare Akoko based businessman, Ekenedli Offiah, has been reportedly kidnapped by an unknown gunmen at Benin axis of the Auchi/Benin/Owo/Ikare road on his way from his hometown, Awka, Anambra state.

Offiah was said to have been abducted last Sunday. 

Meanwhile his abductors are demanding 30 million naira ransom before he can be set free.

A family source in Ikare Akoko said offiah travelled to his hometown to drop his family in order to attend an event at home.

According to the source, the victim decided to take better route along Auchi/Benin/Owo/Ikare route, that is more motorable, when the ugly incident occurred.

His kinsmen in Ikare are now in panic and worried on how to rescue the man alive as there is no way they can raise such huge amount of money in cash now that the country is facing acute scarcity of cash.

According to the source, his abductors have been threatening to kill him if their demand is not met.
