A traveller has been reportedly abducted along Ise-Isua-Akoko road while his driver was found dead inside the car in a pool of his own blood.
The Ikare Akoko police Area Commander, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Razak Rauf who confirmed the incident said the body of the late driver had been recovered and deposited at the mortuary of the State Specialist Hospital, Ikare Akoko.
Rauf promised that police would be combing the forest to rescue the victim and arrest the criminals.
It was gathered that despite the gruesome killing of the driver, the kidnappers were in touch with the family of the abducted for the payment of ransom.
Meanwhile, the Chief Medical Director of Ikare State Specialist Hospital, Dr Ayodele Ogunlade, confirmed that police brought a corpse to the hospital.
It will be recalled that almost at the same spot last year, an Inspector of Police attached to Isua Akoko Divisional Police Station was shot dead by unknown gunmen and his gun taken away.
