As the National Youth Games (NYG) slated for Ilorin draws nearer, the sectional head of Ondo State Gymnastics, Coach Adekemi Ademuwagun has assured the people of the state that her performers will do the state proud.
Ademuwagun in a chat with Sporting Hope at the state sports complex in Akure, the state capital said they have been training vigorously to win gold medals for the state at the 6th edition of the youth games.
She said with what they have been impacting the young athletes, we are optimistic of good outing at the games .
We have been putting our best to ensure they are in good shape in order to fly the flag of the state high at games, our target this time is to surpass the gold and bronze medals we won two years ago.
Despite the fact that this is my first time that I will be leading the state gymnasts to national competition, I have no doubt in my mind that we will have a good outing, I was a performer with many medals to my name for the state and the country, I have done it as an athlete my target is to also do well as coach.
As a performer, I won bronze medal for Nigeria at the 2019 All African games at Rabat Morroco, I have participated in more than six National Sports Festivals where I won gold, silver for the state.
With God on our side , we will do state proud again.
