In a bid to enhance healthcare access, the Hon. Abiola Makinde and Dr. (Mrs.) Rhoda Makinde Initiative (HAMDROMI) has extended its free medical outreach to residents of Akure South.

The outreach, held on Saturday at Ijomu, provided essential medical services, including health education, nutritional assessment, and the distribution of free drugs, with a special focus on women and pregnant women.

Speaking on the impact of the initiative, a member of the medical outreach team, Mr. Adegbite Gabriel, noted that the programme, sponsored by Hon. Makinde, had successfully treated various ailments such as malaria, typhoid, fever, and hypertension.

He added that elderly beneficiaries were also provided with walking aids and sticks to support their mobility.

“We have recorded a significant turnout, and the feedback from residents has been overwhelmingly positive,” he said.

Expressing their appreciation, some beneficiaries, including Mrs. Olywasola Samuel and Mrs. Comfort Olowola, who received walking aids, lauded Hon. Makinde and his wife for their philanthropic gesture and urged them to sustain the initiative.

Additionally, the outreach offered free medical checkups and HIV testing, further enhancing its impact on public health in the community.

Many beneficiaries commended Hon. Makinde’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare delivery and prayed for the continuation of such interventions.
