The lawmaker representing Ondo East/West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Mr. Abiola Makinde, has assured the people of his constituency that the pains being inflicted on them by skyrocketing prices of essential commodities will soon be over.

The lawmaker said President Bola Tinubu would take all necessary economic and political measures to put a soothing balm on the pains of Nigerians by initiating permanent and palliative policies to strengthen the economy and return normalcy to the system.

Makinde, who was also the Director General of the Aiyedatiwa/Adelami Campaign Organization during the 2024 Ondo governorship election, spoke in Ondo town at the weekend during the Easter thanksgiving service in the area.

The lawmaker explained that despite the economic crunch and the attendant discomfort, he urged the citizens to continue to support the Federal Government, assuring that the hardship is gradually coming to an end in the country.

He explained that the President and his team are working round the clock and thinking outside the box to cushion the effects of the current hyperinflation on the citizenry.

Describing the current economic situation in the country as very unfortunate, the parliamentarian assured the people that the Federal Government would do everything possible to convince the citizens that landmark measures are being devised to overcome the situation.

Speaking on the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the lawmaker quoted several passages from the Bible and urged the people to use the period of the celebration to pray for more peace, coexistence, and the well-being of the constituency, Ondo State, and Nigeria as a whole.

The lawmaker also assured them that all the electioneering promises made by Governor Aiyedatiwa while soliciting their votes will be fulfilled. He admonished them to continue to exercise more patience with the government, promising that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government will continue to initiate more life-changing programmes.

“Please, let us be patient with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. You all know that he just came into government. By the grace of God and your support, the Governor will transform Ondo State into a better place.

“He is working round the clock to address the current security situation in the state. You know he loves you and he is ever ready to make you happy always. Don’t worry; all these issues will be addressed.”

Speaking on how passionate he is about the welfare of the people of his constituency, the two-term lawmaker restated that he would always make laws that would initiate more life-changing projects in the area.

He used the occasion to inform the people about various empowerment programmes he has initiated in the area and several others he has planned to better their lives.

The legislator solicited more support from the people for his future political ambition and promised that he would continue to offer better representation and make them proud at the National Assembly.
