The Principal of Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar School, Akure, Mrs. Omobola Ojoge, has described diligence, determination and foresight as the perfect recipe for all-round success.
Ojoge stated this while speaking at the valedictory service organised for the 2024/2025 graduating students of the school.
The principal who described the event as a significant milestone in the lives of the graduating students said that the school was proud of them due to the values of excellence which they had imbibed during their stay in the school.
While thanking all the parents and teachers who joined hands to mould the students, Ojoge urged the outgoing students to maintain the bond that already existed among them and never stop striving to become better versions of themselves.
She said, “As you embark on this new chapter of your lives, remember that the world needs your unique values and contributions.
“Be bold; be courageous, and be the change you wish to see in the world.
“Never stop learning and never stop growing; never stop striving for excellence.
“I offer my warmest congratulations and I pray your future would be bright, your dreams realised, and your impact be felt.
“Remember to stay connected, support one another and never lose sight of your passions and values.”
While speaking with The Hope, Ojoge stated that the graduating students deserved to be celebrated because they were level-headed, obedient and cooperated with the school in all areas.
“Also during their exit exams, they were well-behaved. They did their exams without any aid and performed excellently. When I saw that, I decided to celebrate them,” she added.
Also speaking, a member of the 1987 set, Mrs. Oluwakemisola Shoga-Ogunmola, described the school as the place where she and her mates were moulded, adding that they decided to give back to the school and motivate the students to be hardworking.
She admonished the outgoing students to be above-board and embrace virtue, as indicated by the motto of the school.
At the event, members of the Fiwasaye Old Girls Association (FOGA) from the 1986 and 1987 sets presented cash prizes to graduating students who distinguished themselvesin the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
Esther Omojunikanbi had the best result at the WASSCE and also received the FOGA 87 Excellence Award (best Science student), earning cash prizes of N50,000 and N500,000, respectively.
Temiloluwa Oki had the best UTME result, while the outgoing Senior Prefect, Flourish Osunnaiye, received the FOGA 87 Excellence Award as best Arts student, going home with N500,000.
Zainab Abbass received the FOGA 87 Excellence Award as best Commercial student, receiving a cash prize of N200,000.
