Ondo State Government has commended the various intervention programmes of health developing partners in the state.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr (Mrs) Folukemi Aladenola gave the commendation during a meeting with partners to assess their activities in their various locations of intervention for 4th quarter of 2023.

According to Aladenola, the meeting was aimed at assessing partners’ programmes for the state in their different areas of intervention and also to prevent duplication of activities.

She promised that the meeting would be held quarterly in order to keep track of all their activities and progress while charging them to always give the ministry their work plans and budgets for their programmes so that the state can take ownership after their exit from the state.

In her words: “If you are doing anything  for the state and we are not able to capture what you are doing, it will amount to waste of effort. We should be able to have your plans and programmes at the level of Ministry of Budget and planning so that we can capture it in our budget.”

She appreciated the partners for their support and collaboration in moving the health sector of the state forward, while also charging them to keep the flag flying.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of World Health Organisation (WHO) and the funding partner, Dr Dele David said  the organisation would continue to support the ministry of health to achieve its mandate of good health care delivery in Ondo state.

He emphasized the need for partners’ coordination which he said is a way of synergizing with the state
