Healthcare: ODSG, firms sign agreement

Contributory health scheme Ondo State Government has signed service agreement with  it and Third Party Administrators on the Ondo State Contributory Health Scheme.

Two out of the three Third Party Administrators who were on ground include; United Health Care International Limited and International Health Management Services.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Princess Oladunni Odu while speaking commended the commitment of the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to qualitative health care delivery in the state.

While noting that the agreement between them would be of immense benefit to workers in the state, she called on them to play the game by the rule by ensuring that they comply with their promises to the state.

Princess Odu who stated that the Governor is determined to ensure that the scheme for Civil Servants; Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS) is successful, admonished them to be dedicated and committed to duty so that beneficiaries can enjoy seamless health services.

Speaking earlier, Director-General, ODCHC, Dr. Abiodun Oyeneyin explained that the Governor flagged off ORANGHIS in the state in September 2022, noting that the commission engaged the services of Third Party Administrators( TPA) to coordinate all health insurance services under the commission.

According to him, over 34,000 public servants have been enrolled and have commenced access to care in December 2022 adding that their dependants will also be enrolled before the end of March, 2023.

Dwelling on their roles, Oyeneyin said that they are responsible for the issuance of authorisation code to providers on behalf of Enrollees, collect, verify, analyse and get claims from listed providers for services under Fee-for-services arrangement rendered under the scheme and claims presented for excluded services will not be paid, monitor Health Care Providers to ensure compliance with the laid down guidelines and also set up processes to effectively monitor the implementation of the scheme to ensure quality assurance among providers of Ondo State Contributory Health Scheme.

In their responses, representative of the CEO, United Health Care International Limited, Mrs Adekanye Rita and representative of the MD, International Health Management Services, Mrs Olakunle Elizabeth who described the state as one standing tall in terms of organisation, assured of delivering according to the policy of transparency in ensuring success of the scheme.
