A Nigerian gospel artiste, Prophetess Wunmi Awoniyi a.k.a Gbogomifunmi, has said that raising upcoming artistes and helping the less privileged should be the priority of all successive artistes in the music industry.
The Lagos based artiste noted that “no matter how wealthy you are, if people around you are still hungry or in need of your assistance and you don’t render it, that’s foolishness.
“You must let other people benefit from you, if they come to you with their problems, you should be able to solve most of it, if not all.
“I always love to give to the needy, because that is where my blessing comes from.”
The artiste said that music ministry is a powerful work, that someone cannot just go into without solid backup of the Holy spirit, saying that artiste, must be prayerful before doing the work.
According to her, music is a sensitive profession that someone cannot just dabble into. She said it takes the grace of God and prayer for someone to succeed in choosing music as a career.
Awoniyi, said that she didn’t choose music as a career and that she was born with it, and music is running in her veins.
“Music is my calling from above, right from the beginning of my life, I have been designed to work for God.
“My mother was a Prophetess when she gave birth to me. She had seen vision of the type of person I would become.
“I have been working for God since when I was young; singing and doing the work of “Prophetess” because it is my calling from God.
Awoniyi, urged gospel artistes, to be truthful in all they do, and allow God to dominate their life.
According to her, endurance, focus, faith and the spirit of God is what they need in their journey to heaven.
She noted that there is nothing they do in life that doesn’t work with being humble.
