Hoodlums attack Ondo hospital, steal equipments

Some hoodlums have attacked Ileri Oluwa house of hope hospital and carted away the hospital equipment worth millions of naira in the Ondo West Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming the incident, the

Chief Executive officer of Jejenuwa Empowerment foundation and founder of Ileri Oluwa house of hope hospital, Mr Hakeem Oyeneyin said the incident happened on Sunday night and because of that, the hospital will be locked for now.

Oyeneyin who made this known in an interview with our correspondent in the early hours of today, described the incident as disheartening.

He explained that the thief entered through the hospital roof and window and further emphasized that the hospital will be shut down pending the time the community will assure 100 per cent safety of lives and properties.

In his response to the rumour about internal suspects,  Oyeneyin said the staff are well paid but the level of damage of the hospital shows the security personnel are not up and doing.

He thereby appealed to the patients for the inconvenience it might have caused and hinted that the case had been reported to the police and investigation is ongoing.

On their part, the police at the Yaba division confirmed the incident and said that investigation is ongoing, while the culprit would be arrested very soon.
