Horror! Girl, 15, sells 7-year-old brother in Delta

A 15-year-old girl has reportedly admitted to selling her seven-year-old brother to a man in Agbarho community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The teenager (names withheld), reportedly confessed to selling her brother to a Hausa man in Agbarho.
She said, “I gave them my account number. They say I should be going that they will send the money to my account before they start looking for the child.”
Reports had it that the incident came to public attention when members of the community physically assaulted the girl, forcing her to confess.
The suspect, a twin, whose father is said to hail from Orhoakpor community, narrowly escaped being set ablaze by an angry mob.
The intervention of the former Chairman of Ethiope-East Local Government Area, Anthony Oboroh, prevented the crowd from taking drastic action.
Oboroh urged the mob to desist from harming the girl, warning that the family might end up losing two children.
He subsequently called the police to arrest those allegedly involved in buying the child.
At the time of filing this report, the seven-year old boy remained missing.
Efforts to get the parents of the children to comment on the matter were unsuccessful, as they declined to speak.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, had yet to confirm the incident as of the time of filing this report.
