HoS charges ODSIP Ambassadors on result

Ondo Service Improvement (ODSIP) Change Ambassadors have been charged on the need to harness available resources to achieve utmost result in the public service.

Head of Service in the state, Pastor Kayode Ogundele gave the charge on Tuesday at the 15th quarterly interactive session for the fourth quarter of the year with ODSIP Change Ambassadors in Akure.

According to him, it is important that they aspire to make things better than they are in their various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), adding that they should use this period to review their activities and set goals for themselves in the coming year.

While commending the state public service for keeping the state going despite the challenges in the state, he said that they have been up and doing in their work, adding that they do more to make the state better.

While stressing the need for them to begin to have a high sense of self worth, he noted that they are very significant in the scheme of things in the state.

Welcoming participants to the event, he informed that the forum afford them the avenue to interact as Reformers, coordinate and proffer solutions to some of the challenges being faced by them in the various MDAs.

He added that it is their duty to ensure a well-functioning Government in all sectors and at all levels saying “it is our utmost duty to deliver the mandate to which ODSIP is set up, thereby making the State flourish, even in hard times.”

Describing this period as a very sensitive one in the public service of the state, he stated that they are expected to keep their heads up, devoid of distractions, focus mainly on positivity and deliver to the best of their abilities the efficient and effective service they are employed for.

While speaking further, he revealed that  the Reform Office in accordance with the ODSIP mandate will soon come up with the second Performance Management Template for the year which according to him would assess their effectiveness in respect of the transformation and innovation they have put in place in their various MDAs.

He explained that in order to create a more robust public service in accordance with the One Administration Agenda, all Change Ambassadors are expected to submit a monthly Report of the major activities going on in their MDAs beginning from January, 2024.

This according to him will make a compendium for the Head of Service to be aware of happenings in all MDAs.

In his welcome address, Administrative Secretary, Department of Public Service Reform and Development, Mr. Adewale Omomowo stated that the initiative since inception, has yielded immeasurable fruits in terms of knowledge sharing and collaborations.

Expressing  appreciation to the Head of Service for his continuous support towards the Reform Office, he described him as one who prefers doing things differently in achieving better results, stating that such quality is the soul of ODSIP.
