A 27-year-old graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Esther Oyebade, has been rescued by the Ondo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, after she was abducted in Lagos and later found unconscious in Osun State.
Narrating her ordeal, Esther recounted that she had stepped out from her home in Abule Egba, Lagos, to buy sanitary pads when she was kidnapped. “That is all I can remember,” she said.

According to her, “I regained consciousness in Erin-Ijesa, Osun State, and was later rescued in Igbara-Oke, Ondo State, by Amotekun operatives, who subsequently took me to their headquarters in Akure.”
Expressing her gratitude, Esther said, “I want to say thank you to Amotekun and the Ondo State government for rescuing my life. I really appreciate them. I thank God too.”
Her mother, High Chief Elizabeth Oyebade, also expressed deep appreciation for her daughter’s rescue.
She explained that Esther had been staying with her sister in Abule Egba, Lagos State, while she (the mother) resides in Otun Ekiti in Ekiti State.
“The family realized something was wrong when Esther’s sister called their father around 3 p.m. on Saturday to report her disappearance.
“The moment she regained consciousness, she found herself in Erin-Ijesa. After some minutes, she called me, saying they had dropped her off. She then approached a military checkpoint before Amotekun came to pick her up,” the relieved mother recounted.
She thanked the Ondo State government and Amotekun for their swift response, adding, “I appreciate Amotekun for a job well done.
“I also appreciate the Ondo State government for their support. Most importantly, I thank God for keeping my daughter alive.”
The circumstances surrounding Esther’s abduction remain unclear, but her rescue highlights Amotekun’s continued efforts in tackling insecurity across the South-West region.
