‘I can’t go nude’

An Akure based model, Akinwumi Great, has made a declaration that she has limitation as a model in the modeling industry.

Great, popularly called “D-great”, who hails from Oke-Lisa in Akure is a 300 level Mass Communication student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko and has made a headway in the fashion industry despite several challenges.

According to her, she ventured into modeling recently and with the vision of taking modeling to the world level where she would be recognized both in modelling and fashion.

The young model who started with beauty pageant for the most beautiful in Ondo state 2019 said she has always been having fashion in mind because her stature motivates her.

Great said her major challenges so far is the financial aspect and then, lack of sponsors to support her in her career, although she was supported by her parents. Also, she said It’s not easy because she tends to get tired from trips and still have to make up with attendance but expressed optimism that it’s going well.

Speaking of her experiences so far, she said ”my experience as a model has been amazing, I have been able to meet a lot people.” Pageant has made a lot improvement in modelling career by having deals, shoots and then meeting people. Then I have no limitation as a model except it goes against my own personal principle.” As a model, I can not go nude.”

 On how she sees herself in future, Great said “by God’s grace, I would be climbing on the ladder of success by then.

In declaration of her role models, she said “my role model in pageant is Agbani Darego as well as modelling while for fashion, it is Marc Jacobs.

She then advised aspiring models to be persistent and well determined, then have principles because you will face a lot of challenge.
